I really enjoyed the article “A Kid’s Guide to Graphic Design by Iconic Designer Chip Kidd” when talking about visual design. The first couple of paragraphs are about the cultural blindness to design. Looking around my room, that claim couldn’t be any more accurate. From the cologne on my desk to the laptop on my lap, everything in this room was designed specifically to appear the best that it could, including the energy drink in my hand. Graphic design is important because it is visual and allows businesses to effectively communicate information on their products and create a sense of identity.
